Competence Development Centre
Competence Development Centre is part of the Central Mining Institute – National Research Institute (GIG-PIB) and is responsible for adult education in non-school formats.
The Competence Development Centre of GIG-PIB offers a wide range of educational and training programmes, including postgraduate studies, courses, and specialised training initiatives. We deliver both open recruitment trainings and tailor made programmes designed to meet the specific needs of companies.
We also have experience in obtaining European funding and actively implementing various projects, including:
- educational projects (specialized courses, postgraduate studies, internships, conferences),
- projects aimed at developing modern tools to support teaching processes,
- research projects in collaboration with other departments of GIG-PIB,
- other initiatives with an educational or knowledge dissemination component.
Our Centre is registered in the list of continuing education institutions maintained by the President of the City of Katowice and holds accreditation from the Regional Education Authority for non-school continuing education. We are also accredited in the National Services System for training services and listed in the Register of Training Institutions of the Silesian Voivodeship, maintained by the Regional Labour Office in Katowice. Our commitment to quality is confirmed by the Integrated Management System Certificate (No.JBSI – 16/4/2025) issued by the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (PCBC S.A.), and we are listed in the Polish Development Services Database (BUR).
Moreover, the GIG-PIB Competence Development Centre has a positive decision confirming compliance with the requirements for entities providing training referred to Act on population protection and civil defense (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1907) and in the Regulation of the Minister of Interior and Administration on the population protection and civil defense training program and requirements for entities providing training (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 162).
